Here's a checklist of documents you'll need:


  1. Original Blue Book (which will be returned immediately on verification), along with a photocopy.
  2. Original Insurance Certificate (which will be returned immediately on verification), along with a photocopy
  3. Letter of Guarantee along with a photocopy, for requisite amount from any Financial Institution (approved by Nepal Rashtra Bank for issuing Bank Gurantees), or National Insurance. The original Guarantee document will be kept with the Consulate till the permit is returned.
  4. No Objection certificate from financial Institution. (If the vehicle is financed from Bank)
  5. Id of Owner /Copy of Firm’s Registration
  6.  Authority Letter (if the owner is unable to present himself physically)
  7.  ID of representative
  8. Previous Permit (if Permit for the said vehicle is issued earlier)

Of all these documents listed, Bank Guarantee might take a couple of days depending upon your bank. The Bank Guarantee amount varies as as per the vehicle, (we had to get the guarantee of NPR 8,00,000/- fo BYD ATTO 3.
