Day 1 of our journey commenced at 5:30 AM from Bhaktapur, passing through Thimi, Satdobato, and Thankot. We encountered a traffic delay near the Nagdhunga tunnel construction site due to a broken-down truck, after covering 32 KM on 8% battery consumption.

At the NEA Charging Station in Dharke, we explored the facility, and enjoyed coffee but did not charge as it was not necessary. We spotted a new DC Fast Charging Station installed by CG Motors near Benighat, which is managed by Peace Heaven Restaurant. Witnessing these new charging facilities emerge was a positive and encouraging sight for the development of EV infrastructure in Nepal.

We decided to bypass NEA Charging Station at Mugling as it was non-functional at the time.

We stopped at Bharatpur Bypass for lunch around 11 AM, after covering a distance of 161 KM on battery consumption of 32%. Choosing to bypass the NEA Charging Station at Bharatpur Bus Park, we made this decision as we were confident in reaching our destination for the day without the need for a recharge. Additionally, we heard that this charging station, being barely free, often had a queue of new electric vehicles from showrooms waiting for charging.

Driving through the challenging road section from Dumkibas to Bardaghat while traveling from Bharatpur to Butwal, was very tiring and it was the worst section of the road we encountered throughout this trip. Since most of our drive was downhill, we got a significant gain in range due to REGEN on BYD ATTO 3. For most of the drive the AC was ON, We drove on ECO mode with REGEN level SET on HIGH

Charging at the 30 kW DC Fast Charger at the BYD service center in Butwal cost us Rs 450. We stayed at Hotel Nirwana for the night, where we used a 7 kW AC charger installed by TATA POWER, to juice up our car to 100% .

The day encompassed various charging experiences, challenges on under-construction roads, and strategic energy management to optimize our journey.
