Driving an electric vehicle (EV) on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway was indeed exhilarating. The smooth and well-maintained surface of the expressway offered a comfortable ride, allowing us to fully appreciate the capabilities of the EV.

However, the lack of EV charging infrastructure on the expressway posed a notable challenge. As the journey progressed, the realization that our available range might fall short introduced an element of uncertainty. To address this concern, a contingency plan was quickly devised to take a detour to a nearby charging station, highlighting the critical importance of strategic planning for long-distance EV travel.

Despite our initial plans, the allure of the expressway sometimes led to a temporary oversight in energy management. Accelerating to higher speeds, reaching 120 kmph, resulted in a faster rate of battery consumption. As we noticed we were short on range by around 5-6 km to our proposed charging destination in Agra, range anxiety started to kick in. This prompted a mid-way decision to take the planned detour and recharge the EV at a BPCL Charging station in Tondasi.

In essence, the drive on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway highlighted the need for a delicate balance in managing acceleration, and energy consumption, and underscored the importance of strategic charging planning for a seamless and enjoyable EV journey.
